I just received my new washing machine and trying to register the product.
Nowadays companies expect you to do an online registration even if you are buying a washing machine. I wonder how the uncles & aunties without a computer are suppose to register their product:confused:

Whats worse is that registering is like applying for a job. You are expected to submit alot of sensitive information that might expose you to future marketing calls.
Companies should bring back those physical registration cards & support Singpost:o

even guarantee for my mattress also online.............mattress.............

think there is a date of manufacture print on most products. one generally can claim warranty for the product based on the date of manufacture if one loses the receipt or didn't do a warranty registration.

Not only must you provide the product model, serial number but you are also suppose to provide a PNC number found somewhere on the machine.

1st time I'm trying out an Electrolux product. So far I'm getting a bad impression of this company:(

Why don't you call the customer service hotline? or email?? whom did you buy the washer from? call the supplier...I do not think I have any problem with on-line registration? for Nikon, Canon, Samsung washer, TV , etc. or any ?? for example.

On-line registration had been going on for years, please remember to attached the sales invoice, payment information to the manual or keep somewhere you remember, for, if during the warranty period, you need to service the washer...they might want to see that...just be sure...

Did follow the written instructions that was provided to me by the delivery person. Unfortunately the instructions are outdated & when I did get to the registrations page it requested alot of irrelevant information. More like questions when you are applying for an online account:mad: I only want to get a product registered & not interested in registering for an account.

I got impatient & simply emailed the SN & model, date of purchase to Electrolux's customer support but they replied by asking me for a PNC number??? Come on I've already given them the model & serial number. This serial number is what the deliveryman provided on their how to register form . Now they are asking for a second number which they call a PNC:eek:

I'm surprised that for such a large consumer company like Electrolux they have such a screwed up warranty registration system. I'm comparing them to other companies like Phillips & Daikin ,which do a better job.
Nowadays many companies are trying to collect valuable customer info on their customers. They should realise that not everyone is computer literate or interested in getting their sales promotion.

I'm actually trying to cut back on all the junk emails I'm getting :D That's why I'm sensitive about this.

wha these bull shit online reregistering does is,they sell your contact (called lead) to various bank.
next thing you know, you will get call fvrom XX bank with your full name,age...to buy their product

Most important thing: keep the receipt. Most agents don't honour warranty cards or online registration without a receipt.

I miss the good old days when everything was simpler & one did everything by snail mail. Life was so much simpler

I worry that when I get older & still living in Spore I might have trouble coping with life here. Can't imagine what Spore of the future might be like.:o

agree, I have no problem with registration on other products but Electrolux is real fuck up

some tricky brother like to sell your second hand items online by quoting :unfill warranty""
they think they can use the item untill rotten, then start filling in warranty and claim repair.
fucking bullshit

If you buy a washing machine from them you will have to provide a 12 digit PNC number that is located on a tiny label visible only when you open the door of the washer:eek:

Must bend very low & you might need a magnifying glass:D

Finally got my product registered. They gave me a ANOTHER number to remember. Something they call a "customer number". If I need my washer needs servicing all I have to do is bring up this number. :)
How many people will be able to remember a number after a year:confused:

Have to say that I got a quick email response & they also provided a tel number for their call centre. They indicated that they will inform management of my criticism of their registration process. Don't know whether they will improve their process but as it stands the process is not customer friendly.

Short cut: Save your warranty card and receipts, then don't do anything. If really got problem during warranty period, take out warranty card + receipts, and everything will be settled. No need to register and such. The first and foremost warranty verification is the proof of purchase / receipts, followed by manufacturing or shipping dates.

Extended warranty is also another money-maker for retailers, don't have to buy one. It's just a vehicle for them to prolong the financial lifespan of older parts and/or stocks, while making a profit. By the time your electronics up lorry (after the standard 12 months warranty), the very same specs/volume/power and etc are already about half price. Usually less than half price :p

This only applies to consumer electronics btw, corporate stuff is quite a bit different. Especially prices of older parts (older more expensive).

International warranty (esp. for laptops and mobile devices) will depend on the company. In most cases, international warranty is NOT provided, even by the big names and if they do have the option, you will have to pay extra. And the coverage isn't exactly 'international' as well.

:p

I'll probably buy an extended warranty for my Macbook Pro. However I'll get one from Malaysia or the US because it's cheaper than getting from Spore.
