Why are maids humans? If maids were better behaved in their previous lives, they wouldn't be reincarnated as maids in this life. Hence, ill-treatment of them is just punishment for their misdeeds in their previous life. Ask any Brahmin!

maids shoul not live with the employer.
They should be transported to the houses in the morning, clean and cook, then leave and stay in a central maid housing where they can rest and relax after a day's work.
