Another senior civil servant under probe - told you high pay scheme won't work

For all the horn blowing by PAPpies that Singapore's govt is not corrupted (like some other countries around which PAPpy has been mocking), the cases of the SCDF Commissioner's under suspension, and CNB Chief under probe, both for corruption, it is now shown that high pay does not remove corrupted officials from high office.

From Day One, I have never bought the argument that high pay will curb corruption. That is like saying our ministers and top civil servants are corrupted and hence, they need high pay to make them "uncorrupt".

Well, looks like some of these highly overpaid guys are truly corrupt - and high pay still failed to make them uncorrupt.

Time to review the crazy super duper pay scales of the ministers and top civil servants?

You pay protection money to the street thugs so that your stall will no be trashed by someone (usually those collecting) So is it ever enough for protection money paid? Thugs need to feed their army of mistresses, illicit children, new house, new car, new watch, new vacation, new weapon, more effort to come out to protect you because there are better turfs to look after. A classic example is high paid footballers. Where do you think a 25yr old spent 50k pounds a week? On prostitutes, booze and other thrills. Pay so much to these people for what? Real talent comes from within not by the ridiculously fat paycheck. Such simple logic also cannot understand
