Woman and 4-year-old girl found dead at Jurong West block
December 31, 2011 - 12:55am
TNP PICTURE: Gavin Foo
MADAM Tan Jak Hoon had missed all the commotion at the bottom of her block in Jurong West.
When the 58-year-old housewife returned home after a visit to a hospital yesterday evening, her neighbours told her that a broken chair that belongs to her was somehow connected to the gruesome discovery a few hours earlier, 16 storeys below.
The bodies of a woman in her mid-40s and a four-year-old girl were found at the foot of Block 659B in Jurong West Street 65, and the woman might have used Madam Tan's chair to climb over the parapet before the death plunge.
Madam Tan's neighbours later saw the police taking photographs of her chair, which was found propped against the parapet on her floor.
Madam Tan told The New Paper: "Why would somebody choose to kill themselves here? And why use my broken chair?"
