The resident at Everton Road, Ms Julia Hawker, clarified that it was her neighbour who had requested for the potted plants to be placed around the bike, so that its owner would contact the resident. She strongly denies threatening STOMPer kelvint, or vandalising the scooter.
According to Ms Hawker, the residents at Everton Road have collectively bought plants to block off the lane, to prevent motorcyclists from parking there because of the noise from the vehicles.
In an earlier article, STOMPer kelvint asserts that the lane is public property and the residents have no right to trap his bike with potted plants.
In a teleconversation, Ms Julia Hawker said:
"The noise from the bikes reverberates in the lane, making it unbearable for residents here.
"We bought potted plants to prevent motorcyclists from parking illegally there.
"Would you rather have flower pots, or noisy motorcycles in your backyard?"
Ms Hawker also added that her real estate agent had told her that the lane was the common property of the residents, because it was a dead-end lane.
STOMP understands that Ms Hawker has contacted LTA and the traffic police about the problem of bikes parking illegally in the lane, but she has not received a response.
