Quality of life that's hard to beat

I REFER to last Saturday's letter by Ms Maureen Pollard, "Ex-citizen's regret: Missing Singapore".
I can understand Ms Pollard's longing for family and friends in Singapore and for the quality of life Singapore offers its people.
This quality of life must be hard to beat even if one emigrates to a developed country.
Giving up Singapore citizenship is a serious matter and, apparently, there is no turning back.
I have been told that there are many cases of Singaporeans who have emigrated to other countries and have regretted their decision to leave because they have suffered discrimination and are treated like second-class citizens in the country of their choice.
I think we should appreciate the quality of life that we enjoy in Singapore and be thankful for what we have.

he is just speaking the truth, if a family makes more than 20k/mth, singapore offers a tremendous standard of living.

with more than 20k/mth, no need to worry about rising health care and retirement costs. they will benefit most from our low income tax regime - get the benefit of s'pore's high living standards at bargain price.

singapore is truly a great place to live.... for the right price.

Har? i never see he write anything about 20k/month salary. of course 20k a month is better than $2000 a month. and $2000 a month is better than $800 a month and so on............
The best is $1.8million a year and live for free in istana.
