So the MP uses $9000 of his own money for this?

Some 300 grassroots leaders from the Ang Mo Kio-Hougang constituency on Saturday pledged an artificial kidney each, benefiting needy patients undergoing dialysis.

And MP for the area Yeo Guat Kwang pledged to match the donations made dollar for dollar.

An artificial kidney, shaped like a tube, plays an important role in removing waste products and cleansing the patient's blood during dialysis. Costing $30 each, the kidney can be used for about a month. With about 2,400 patients currently being treated at the 24 dialysis centre, NKF will need over $1 million to fund artificial kidneys yearly.

Called Be an AK Giver, the year-long public awareness campaign by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), was launched at the foundation's Hougang- Punggol Dialysis Centre on Saturday.

It would be interesting, I would salute them, they donate their kidneys on the spot & match theirs to a recepient.

hi there

1. wayang wayang!
2. if they are so interested they should have done it a very long time back then.
3. to make it happen, you would require ah ram to physically tear open the respective bodies to remove the kidneys.
4. hahaha!
