An elderly man in Singapore said a "woman" he met over the internet scammed him of more than S$10,000.

The woman made several claims - such as needing a permit to come to Singapore because she had committed a crime and that she met with a car accident once she arrived - and requested money from the man on several occasions.

The man eventually caught on and reported the case to police.
