From the grapevine, he was a popular man when he was in woodlands.
And from the grapevine, he was hard and tough on the civil servants in the ministries and demands results instead of excuses.
And the grapevine says he had the natural talent to make it to be minister caliber.
But the grapevine also heard rumours he was biased on Malay Muslim issues that made some PAP heavyweights uncomfortable.

Thus the grapevine concluded that he needed to be sent out to pasture in sengkang when he could have won easily in woodlands.

Congratulations Amrin. They played you and used you and discarded you when you've done what they wanted you to.
