Goes to show how messed up local government is. Local government had worked when the MP was from the ruling party. When the elected MP is from another party, the PAP-concocted model falls apart.

MP is elected to run the ward. Yet, it is restricted by the ministry, the CCC, PA and so many other PAP entities. Just because the MP is from another party.

What kind of democracy is it when the people's representative, the MP, is handcuffed by non-elected grassroot organizations whose leader is appointed by the government?

This looks like a case of BULLYING by the PAP Government...... nothing more and nothing less, and it is good that the WP is taking on the Bully.


The People of Aljunied GRC had elected the WP to represent them in our Parliament, and thereby putting them to run their Town Councils.


The CCC was NOT an elected body and therefore have no business and should NOT be empowered to make rules and dictate what elected representatives can or cannot do to provide services and amenities to the very people who elected them.


Singapore is a democracy, but the way things pan out, we are really being governed in a very communistic way, with politically beholden CCCs having executive and overriding power over Elected Representatives of the People...


Just where do the People of Singapore stand in such a communistic system of Government when their elected MPs are subject to authorities granted to CCCs...??


I think this communistic tool of the PAP has to be neutralized and the CCC be reduced to a more appropriate role to advise only Elected MPs and Town Councillors, NOT those Non-elected Ones, and also NOT to advise any Political Party, be it the WP or the PAP.


The PAP should realize that the People of Singapore can get things changed for the better with a WP Government....
