After three days in RWS, he emerged with a staggering $4.6 million in winnings.
Either lady luck is smiling on him or this could be a case of rigging, possibly collusion with RWS staff.

Zhang was fined $20,000 for the crime. He could have been fined up to $50,000 or jailed for up to three years.
But Deputy Public Prosecutor Hon Yi told the court that RWS casino employees had reminded Zhang to heed the regulations on the movement of the currency.

In imposing the find, Disrict Judge Lee Poh Choo noted that such currency restrictions are common in many countries and Zhang had to be aware of these regulations.

Zhang paid the fine yesterday and the money siezed from him was ordered to be returned.

He could have just left $20k at the customs and return with the remaining $913,870. And saved a bit on legal fees too.

What's the point of enacting laws which you have no desire to implement for a deterrent effect?

Even flipping and burning of police vehicles/ambulances can go scot free.

Excerpt from PMO Press Statement:
"We are investigating the incident thoroughly and will deal with the culprits with the full force of the law."

Yahoo: Little India riot: 53 repatriated; 4 more to be deported
"A total of 53 people linked to the recent riot in Little India have been repatriated to their home countries and will not be allowed in Singapore again, police said.
In addition, four people who were previously charged in court but had their charges withdrawn would also be repatriated Friday evening, Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee said in a press briefing Friday afternoon."

Could it be a stage wayang?20k for adds in papers and get ppl talking about rws casino:D

Full of shit, what is 20k to this guy? Maybe one spin of the roulette he already bet 10x that amount.

So what if he had declared that he had more than $30,000:confused: Are the winnings taxable:confused:

Isn't this why foreigners go to the casino, to launder their money;)

Win-win for SG govt. No need to worry about space to house all these people while awaiting trial, no need to spend money to feed these people while in custody and best of all, no need to go through some wayang and hand out sentences that may antagonise either SGreans or foreign governments.

Chinese laundry-man..did not declare his washings and dry cleaning items.
