Super Typhoon Ragasa, the King of Stormsand the strongest storm on the planet, has brought Asia to a standstill.

In Shenzhen, 400,000 people were ordered to evacuate as Hong Kong shut schools, businesses, and flights. Tens of thousands of passengers remain stranded across Asia.

Taiwan bore the brunt earlier, with Hualien county hit by a barrier lake burst that killed two and left 30 missing. Over 7,600 people were evacuated.

Authorities across at least 10 cities have issued the highest storm alerts, urging residents to stay indoors.

Despite the chaos, many in Hong Kong said they were calm, accustomed to typhoon season, but still taped windows and secured homes.
