To some, in economic sense, they think singapore is China, so they squeeze as many FTs as they could so local unity is lost. When local unity is lost, there will be no revolt, no massive protest.....against the defacto leaders.
When an island is too small and money minded, it becomes politicised to add.
I name you two secondary schools---Serangoon Garden technical School and Tanjong katong Technical school.
Both are old secondary schools, and becos of fewer students, they have to resign to different fate.
Tanjong katong school has turned into hostels for FT students(more than 1k), tuition ctes, canteen and music school. The field had been sold to private developer to build condo.
Now serangoon tech will become a dorm. The field behind the workshops is a big one, they called this old place Chengsan area. Will the field suffer the same fate as TKTS.
What does that mean to any PAP scholars ? Money Money Money, is a rich man world, no need ABBA to remind us !
What about golf courses Lau Goh used to tee-off ? How many golf courses are there in Singapore island, be they 18 holes or 36 holes ? These are huge land plots meant for richer people to do networking.
Money is also another factor why these land plots are sacrified.
Now tell me, what can old hacks and dames in 70s and 80s bring ? They are not familee , what economic sense are talking about ? Once the novelty wears off, you are swept to the side, that's singapore !
So Ah Khaw is honest about JB nursing homes.
But Lau Goh saw something, their votes !
So he tried to change subject by telling people not to let the dumping of ancient relics at JB comes in vogue.
So who is more honest? Ah Khaw you people call malaysian cow or lau Goh you people call Wooden ??
And now, Ah Mah is thinking something else!
So CPF must have failed singapore badly, 40 years on, i mean very badly !
