Police officers escort Ng to her home in San Po Kong for further investigation on Wednesday. Ng allegedly fabricated a story of her baby's abduction in Kowloon City to cover up the baby's death.
A housewife left her six-month-old daughter at home to attend a violin class but later found she had no signs of life, a court heard on Wednesday.
Ng Tin-yan, who allegedly fabricated a story of the baby girl being abducted to cover up her death, appeared in Kowloon City Court accused of preventing the lawful burial of the girl Yu Hoi-ching.
Ng, 32, did not enter a plea on Wednesday.
The court heard that on November 23, the mother claimed she was giving directions to a middle-aged woman looking for Wong Tai Sin MTR station. She answered the woman’s questions before realising her daughter had been snatched.
It also heard that upon further police inquiry, Ng said she left her home at San Po Kong Mansion for her violin class in the morning of November 17. The prosecution told the court that when she returned home, the six-month-old girl was fine.
But later at 9pm, Ng found Hoi-ching showed no signs of life and she tried to apply first aid treatments on the girl. The following day, she dumped the girl in the rubbish bin at the rear staircase of her building.
Principal Magistrate Peter Law adjourned the case to January 15, pending further police investigation.
