A investment banker who punched a security guard, putting him in a coma apologises two years after the unprovoked attack.

The victim of a horrific coward punch has revealed he can never forgive his attacker for all the pain he and his family have been put through.

On Monday a Sydney court was shown the CCTV footage showing the moment Sydney investment banker James Ian Longworth punched security guard Fadi "Fred" Taiba in the head because he was denied entry to an inner-city bar.

Mr Taiba suffered a traumatic brain injury and had to have part of his skull removed after Longworth attacked him at Bar 333 on George St in September 2013.

Mr Longworth faces up to 10 years in jail for his actions.

What sort of lousy security guard is this if he can't even outfight a banker? Might as well hire a guard dog to keep the riff-raff out.

getting into a real world fight is different from what you see in kung fu flicks, sometimes, an unintentional physical contact can be fatal. i used to train in aikido when i was in school. i know that certain fatal strokes can kill a person. that's why when i get into conflict, i will try my best to avoid at all cost even if i am right. my philosophy in life is "cho lang chin cai", no need to be so calculative or narrow minded.:o

He didn't expect a smartly dressed, educated and civic person to lash out in such a vicious attack on an innocent being. The world is becoming a dangerous place. You don't know who your enemy is.

There are a number of "wounded" people out there who are potential " time-bombs " , waiting to blow on innocent people at the slightest aberrations.

Such people should be locked up before they become a menace to society.

Donald Trump will agree .

Those doing security must behave with decorum especially for service oriented outlet like the bar, disco or restaurant. Cannot even do anything when shouted with profanities. This guard could be a Polynesia by the name.

My fren had a brush with Crown casino croupier who called a big unfrenly angmoh on standby........one angmoh helping another? There was provocation by the angmohs but my fren was ready to beat them up with his wushu blows

An investment banker who violently 'lashed out' at a bouncer - striking him with such force that doctors had to remove a part of his skull - has been found guilty over the brutal and unprovoked attack.
Security guard Fadi 'Fred' Taiba required surgery to treat a traumatic brain injury after James Ian Longworth punched him at Bar 333 in Sydney on September 6, 2013.
After more than a day of deliberations, a jury found Longworth not guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent but guilty of the lesser charge of recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.

While Longworth always admitted to throwing the punch which the crown described as a 'haymaker', he denied he meant to cause Mr Taiba really serious injury.
On Monday the jury accepted that he lacked this intent.
The 34-year-old told his trial at Sydney's District Court last week that at the time of the 'incident' he had been grappling with his father's death in June that year.

Longworth explained how he had been living in the UK when his father died and he never got a chance to say goodbye or 'tell him that I loved him'.
The day before he punched Mr Taiba, he was told the crematorium had lost his father's ashes and he was 'heartbroken'.
The next night he ran into friends at Concourse Bar near Wynyard where he had 10 schooners.
When the group went to the nearby Bar 333, Longworth was denied entry prompting the attack.

Longworth said he 'lashed out' at Mr Taiba after learning the crematorium had lost his father's ashes

'Any other night I would probably have just laughed and walked away,' Longworth said.
Instead, he protested, and - 'overwhelmed' about his dad and knowing his night was over 'lashed out'.
As Mr Taiba was talking to another patron, CCTV footage captures Longworth swiftly moving towards him and landing the blow to the side of the 44-year-old's head.
Security guard George Linardos told the trial he heard a loud slapping noise before seeing Mr Taiba fall to the ground.
'I was shocked. I'd never seen anything at all like that before. I was scared,' he said.
Longworth, who remains on bail, is set to return to court on December 11 for sentencing proceedings.

Outside court, Mr Taiba's wife Danielle (right) told reporters she watched her husband lie in a coma for 19 days after Longworth punched him

Outside court, Mr Taiba's wife Danielle told reporters she watched her husband lie in a coma for 19 days after Longworth punched him.
'Why is it when you felt sad thinking of your deceased father you decided to king hit my husband and run,' she asked.
'I have yet to receive an apology. Why is that?
'You have taken away my children's innocence - I will never forgive you for that.'
Mr Taiba said the CCTV footage once released to the media would tell the truth.
