'Taking care' of someone can have another meaning.

For example, the mafia boss sent his henchmen to 'take care' of his enemy.

So yes, the PAP has taken great care of the elderly citizens.

You may be right, but my impression that the silly catchphrase term for that was "fix"........................ :(

PAP lied again.

But then, PAP always and always tell lies.

The death of that 95 year old lady is caused by smear of shit on sole of shoe robbing and fucking singaporeas of 600?? 700?? 800 billions.
If that was not done, there will be more than enough money to take care of those people in a dignified way.

Instead we see 70 and 80 years old singaporeans collecting tin cans and cardboard to try to live where billions are given to PAP maggots on pay and bonuses and even more billions spend on foreign trash and even more hundreds of billions into the banks of LKY and his stinkapore sovereign funds

That ghost of that old lady and many other ghosts will be waiting for smear of shit on sole of shoe LKY to die and to feast on LKY soul while the demons and ghouls are fucking and raping LKY with the mercy LKY shown to others

He promise, 'that no one would be left behind'. sad to see
a 95 hving to take her own life.

No one be left behind, they did not say whether those left behind should be dead or alive.

More good years, they did not say who should be the ones enjoying those good years! hahaha

The fact that so many Singaporeans can live to such a ripe old age is testimony to the PAP's ability to create a healthy and peaceful environment.

In most other countries, the elderly die well before their time because of a lack of sanitation and affordable healthcare.

Singapore has one of the highest life expectancies in the world and this proves what a good job the government is doing. They deserve a pat on the back for their excellent efforts.

Singaporeans should be forever grateful to the PAP for ensuring the longevity and health of its citizens.

Worked for 42 years still cannot ensure a trouble free and happy retirement till death....PAP should reflect on how well they have been taking care of the elderly citizens...

Name me ONE country on earth where the government can ensure a trouble free and happy retirement for each and every individual citizen.

Some facilities likened to chicken farms over shortfalls in aged care.

A Herald investigation of rest homes - where a greater proportion of elderly people die than in 12 other developed countries - has found that although most care is at least adequate, some reflects major failings.

The two-month investigation found a confused married woman was "mauled" by a male resident in his bed at one home, and a scabies outbreak wasn't properly managed for nine months at another.

There were concerns about poorly treated pressure sores, residents left in pain because caregivers were too busy to answer call bells, and cuts in physiotherapy and activities.

Aged-care health specialists were concerned about under-funding, low pay, and caregiver turnover of 25 per cent last year, all combining to weaken the quality of care.

"They are like chicken farms, some of these places; they plonk people down in front of TV and over-medicate," said Age Concern field worker Chris Frew.

Rest-home operators say they are simply not funded to provide more than "a minimum level of care".

she said she had no regets coming to Singapore, then why kill herself?

Her only regret in life is to trust too much on people whom she had placed her FAITH & HOPE in & made her their CHARITY...there are many in the 55 above band who are potential jumpers...FAITH & HOPE in them, their CPF becomes theri CHARITY, when, where & why to give back!

In the same vein, name me one country - besides Singapore - that after working hard for 42 years still have to meet a tragic end by committing suicide due to being too old and poor.

Name me ONE country on earth where the government can ensure a trouble free and happy retirement for each and every individual citizen.

Their family member is entitled to not just great care but private jet care from UK to Spore....

History always repeats itself... Many will be like her working hard all their lives only to die lonely...

I always tell those Sinkie and will say the same here. Those Sinkie who brought their pigeon holes too expensive and to realised that their Con People Fund will be emptied by the PAP by the time they reach 55, will find working beyond 55 and even 65 will not be a choice but a necessity.

And many of those 50 and beyond will find difficulty even if they could find jobs that would pay them the lowest.

Killing themselves would be a simpler and cheaper solution like what this 95 year old did.
