Chitchat 9 April....26 new Covid-19 infections in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore on Friday (April 9) reported 26 new imported cases of Covid-19. There were no cases in the wider community.

In its update on the coronavirus situation here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all 26 people had been placed on stay-home notices upon their arrival here and were tested while serving quarantine.

They were:

Four Singaporeans and three permanent residents who returned from Canada, India, Indonesia and Kenya

Two dependant’s pass holders who arrived from India

One long-term visit pass holder who came from India

Two student's pass holders who arrived from France and India

Two work pass holders who came from India and the United Kingdom

Twelve work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines — two of whom are foreign domestic workers

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks.

The number of cases in the community with no known links to confirmed cases has also remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks.

The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,601.

Of these, 60,304 people have fully recovered and been discharged, including 20 on Friday.

There are still 44 patients in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit, MOH said.

Another 223 patients are isolated at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.

if out of 540,000 infected 5% died.....

Stay home. Then social distancing of 1.5 m between human. Then human wear mask..
