Bromptongate: Khaw is clueless about accountability

Brompton foldable bike - $2200 bought by NParks
I checked online at http://www.cycle-heaven.co.uk/bikes/brands/Brompton/ and here are the prices I extracted (all are 2012 models except one).
model M2L : 810pounds (S$1,596 or GBP1,971)
model M3L : 810pounds (S$1,596)
model M6L : 870pounds (S$1,714)
model P6R : 920pounds (S$1,812)
model P6RX : 1420pounds (S$2,797)
model S2L (2011): 760pounds (S$1,497)
model S2L (2012): 810pounds (S$1,596)
Based on these prices, I consulted my favorite bike shop that sells high-end bikes, if I were to buy 26 such bikes what kind of discounts should I expect? I was told minimum 25% and perhaps up to 35%.
So, even the top of the range would look like S$1,957 (I used 30%) while the regular would be more like S$1,117. Surely, if a government department was to buy Brompton bikes, I expect them to buy the regular. So even when you throw in S$100 for shipping each (remember you are bringing this in bulk and by sea), you can’t spend more than S$1,300 each.
Khaw is clueless about accountability. Looks like citizens just lost S$900 per bike or S$23,400. However, I guess this is small amount considering that the PAP is planning to give away S$1.1B of our money to increase number of buses because of their screw-ups by letting in so many foreigners.
The infrastructure was built by our forefathers and our tax monies and with the influx of foreigners we now have to cough up more. Temasek owns most of the transport companies and this injection is like taking the citizens’ money and transferring to Temasek.
