63-year-old man charged with slashing a younger man

SINGAPORE: A 63-year-old man has been charged with slashing a younger man on the cheek and neck with a chopper at Clementi Avenue 3.
Kamis Ahmad is accused of hurting 53-year-old Kamis Awang on Sunday at about 7pm at the See Lam Hern Coffeeshop.
The police previously said the two men, who know each other, had a dispute at the coffeeshop.
The accused left the coffeeshop after the dispute, but later returned armed with a chopper and allegedly attacked the victim.
The accused has indicated he wishes to undergo psychiatric treatment.
The case will be heard on March 11.
If found guilty, Kamis can be jailed up to seven years, fined and caned for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. - CNA/nd
