Man dies in budget hotel

A man died soon after he checked into a budget hotel with a PRC woman yesterday.
The 60-year-old man, the former owner of a plumbing business, checked into a budget hotel at Little India at about 2.30pm yesterday.
The man was said to have fainted on the floor in the room less than 20 minutes after checking in with the Chinese national woman.
The woman was seen informing the hotel staff about the man before leaving hastily.
More than five police cars with the Civil Defence arrived just after 3pm at the hotel and sent the man to a hospital.
The manager of the hotel told reporters that a number of policemen wearing gloves entered the hotel room to investigate the scene.
The man, known to have a wife and daughter died about an hour later in hospital.
Police have classified the case as an unnatural death and are investigating.
