A mobilisation drill conducted by an infamous secret society in Hong Kong was foiled when police got wind of it. The drill, planned by the syndicate's factions in Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei areas, was to test and train its ability to mobilise its 'foot soldiers'.

During the event on Monday night, its members - regardless of where they were - has to rush to the barbecue section of Deep Water Bay in the shortest possible time. Police got wind of it and conducted operations at several locations in the Special Administrative Region.

They arrested 53 people including two leaders, believed to be members of an underworld organisation. Those nabbed were 45 men and 10 women, aged between 14 and 55. Police believe the syndicate is involved in extortion, gang fights, robbery, theft, drug trafficking and other crimes.
