SINGAPORE - A 50-year-old fitness enthusiast was fined $3,000 earlier today for molesting a gym trainer.

Sim Yong Seng admitted to squeezing the female trainer's thigh but claimed he did not intend to molest her.

The part-time property agent claimed he wanted to assess her muscle strength because she was going to be his trainer, reported The Straits Times.

The incident happened on April 28, 2010 when the victim, 23, was explaining the results of an in-body analysis test to him. She alleged that Sim moved close to her before squeezing her right upper thigh twice near her crotch area.

He said that she had strong thighs.

District Judge Kamala Ponnampalam said she could not accept that Sim wanted to assess the victim's muscle strength.

Sim could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined.
