5 youths arrested for attempted break-in

SINGAPORE : Five youths, aged between 12 and 17 years, have been arrested for attempting to break into a provision shop.
A member of the public spotted the youths outside the ground floor provision shop at Blk 202 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on Wednesday at about 3.45am.
She called the police and the suspects were subsequently detained at a nearby block.
The youths are believed to have attempted to break into the shop using a metal rod.
Investigations on the five suspects are ongoing.
Acting Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Superintendent of Police Manimaran Pushpanatan commended the member of public for her vigilance and prompt action in alerting the police.
He said: "This case showcases the effectiveness of police-community partnership in combating crime."
