400,000 yuan offered' to end relationship

A 26-year-old woman in Xiaoyi, Shanxi province told Beijing News a 49-year-old official at the city’s environmental protection bureau signed an agreement with her in which he offered her 400,000 yuan (nearly $65,000)to end their relationship.

She said she had been the official’s mistress for two and a half years. She also became pregnant but had an abortion. Their relationship soured and they signed the agreement to break up last month.

The woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also said she is waiting for the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Shanxi province to investigate the case.
