<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> THREE men and a woman were arrested for suspected involvement in loansharking activities in two separate cases. On Tuesday, officers from Clementi Police Division on patrol nabbed a 24 year-old man at Clementi Avenue 3 who was in possession of seven ATM cards, several bank transaction slips and cash amounting to $2,900.
The suspect is believed to have helped in the business of a loanshark by carrying out bank transfers. In the second case, two men and a woman were spotted splashing paint and scrawling words in black ink on a flat at Ghim Moh Road on Tuesday. Officers from Clementi Police Division arrived within minutes and arrested the trio.
Loanshark-related paraphernalia including cans of paint, a black marker and two handphones were found in their possession. Investigations show that one of the suspects was a debtor-turned-runner and the three had assisted in unlicensed moneylending activities by harassing debtors. All 4 suspects will be charged in court on Thursday.
