SINGAPORE – A man died after an accident involving two cars and a motorcycle on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) in the early morning of July 28.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident on the SLE towards the Bukit Timah Expressway before the Lentor Avenue exit at around 2am.

A 35-year-old male car driver was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic and a 31-year-old motorcyclist was conscious when taken to the hospital, police said.

Police added that a 32-year-old male car driver is assisting with ongoing investigations.

A video of the accident’s aftermath on the Singapore Roads Accident.com Facebook page shows the two rightmost lanes of a four-lane road blocked off by emergency vehicles.

A blue police tent sits on the rightmost lane amid the vehicles, which include at least one police van, three police cars and three police motorcycles.

In the first four months of 2024, 54 people have died due to traffic accidents.

Traffic accidents claimed the lives of 136 people in 2023, a 25.9 per cent jump from the 108 deaths in 2022.
