An average of 35,000 dependants of employment pass holders entered Singapore each year from 2005 to 2010.
About 4,200 have gained employment to date, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Manpower Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
Mr Shanmugaratnam was responding to a question posed by Workers' Party Mr Yaw Shin Leong during the Parliament sitting on Monday.
Mr Yaw had asked about the number of employment pass holders' dependants who are allowed entry into Singapore each year and the number of dependants who gained employment here each year.
