i know. but i have to be around to take care of the old during CNY, they can no longer travel.Just go on a holiday (even a domestic 'holiday') during CNY. After a few years, they will get the message.
To really drive home the point, boycott their funerals and weddings.
This year, i boycotted a funeral, it felt great. For weddings, people also don't want to invite me but they need the angpao from seniors and show their filial piety, so they will invite the seniors and add me, because they need me to chauffeur the olds, wheelchair them, help them go toilet because the hosts are very busy.
Sorry for my ranting, I just don't want to see them. I have so much bad experiences with CNY, it is basically about money and showing off.

I think those who got oldies to care for will know its impossible to leave. In some cases, just yo shut most relatives up, you gotta say you doing some top notch projects, give some numbers to confuse and embarass them.Just go on a holiday (even a domestic 'holiday') during CNY.
