Goh Keng Swee, Rajaratnam and Toh Chin Chye became senile which is exceptionally high for any group of individuals involved in an endeavor. Not something that is publicly known but I am sure something that would pique the interest of many. Was it the burden of nation building, the angst of contemplating "what-ifs", or the strain of making political decisions that would have long term consequences.

3 out of 4?

Will it be or has it become unanimous already?

Boss, you remember Chua Sian Chin? When he was Health Minister and when his wife gave birth at the old KK hospital, she demanded that one matron with four staff nurses be on duty on 8 hr shift to attend to her 24/7.

Chua has been struck with Alzheimer disease for the last 17 yrs.

I am actually curious why these people seemed to be affected. His brother-in-law killed himself and he was the also the Home Affairs Minister. The mind seemed to be affected in all these cases.

Maybe because of their lifespan.

With the fantastic medical care, probably part of the party's policy many will be in good physical shape. For example, if you have cholesterol you take pills and top doctor monitor monthly, you probably have dietician to ensure correct food intake.

But so far there is little one can do with the mind. In effect, due to medical care, you can life much longer but the mind fails.

If anyone of us were given the best medical care and monitored on a weekly basis (doctor comes to office to see you), with the drusg available, you would likely live into the 90s. Any cancer would be detected very early.

Probably more of a case where there wasnt anything to think, worry, or stress oneself over anymore once you are forced to step down and vegetate. A mind and a brain given to highly active and highly charged neural onslaughts suddenly forced to chill, without a gradual winding down. Old man knew this very well but preserved himself well until he was clearly shown by the people's response at the GE to be outdated and irrelevant. Perhaps now we'll begin to see him mentally dying and going senile soon. If one is cruel, one shld wish him to live long long without any power, position, status, or influence. Solitary confinement has an equivalent effect.
