SINGAPORE: Police have arrested three men for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
In the first case, the police received several reports of loanshark harassment in the housing estate in the vicinity of Jurong East Street 32, in which paint was splashed at debtors' units and loanshark-related writings were found on the walls.
On Saturday, a suspect was arrested at about 11pm. Two marker pens and two mobile phones were found in his possession.
The police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect is believed to have carried out loanshark harassment by writing on the wall of a victim's unit.
In the second case, three cars were splashed with paint in Yishun Avenue 3 on Sunday morning.
A 28-year-old suspect was arrested.
In the third case, a 35-year-old man was arrested last Friday in the vicinity of Geylang Road for suspected involvement in loanshark activities.
