3 arrested for suspected involvement in 2 cases of mischief by fire

Police arrested three male youths from the ages of 18 to 19 for suspected involvement in two cases of mischief by fire on Thursday.
Police were notified of two cases where a wheelchair and some clothing were set on fire in the vicinity of Holland Close on Wednesday night. The cases happened at about 12.05am and 12.50am. Emergency responders from the Singapore Civil Defence Force and the police arrived within minutes to put out the fire.
After extensive investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division traced the whereabouts of the three suspects and arrested them. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects set fire to the items out of mischief.
One of the youths, 19, is also believed to be involved in several other similar cases around Holland Close and Commonwealth Avenue in January.
