3 arrested for serial thefts

By Lee Jia Xin

POLICE have arrested three youths in connection with a series of theft from stall cases. The trio, aged from 13 to 19 years, are believed to be behind a spate of thefts from stalls at hawker centres at Tanglin Halt, Holland Drive and Ghim Moh Road. The items stolen included cash and cigarettes amounting to about $1,500.

Two of the suspects were nabbed on Thursday morning at Holland Avenue while a third was caught at Bedok South. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were involved in at least five cases of theft from stalls. The suspects were charged in Court on Thursday afternoon for theft, which carries a maximum of three years jail and/or fine.

Local boys may get 3 years while a white trash just get 9 months. Fairness in the jurdical system ?
