SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 277 new COVID-19 infections as of noon on Friday (Jul 24), with five cases in the community, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
This brings the total number of cases in the country to 49,375.
Among the community cases, there are two Singaporeans or permanent residents, and three work pass holders.
There are also two imported cases who were placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.
The vast majority of the new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories, the ministry said.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 49,375.
The three community cases are all work permit holders, said MOH.
Of the three cases, two were picked up as a result of surveillance and screening, and one had already been placed on quarantine.
Only one of the cases is currently unlinked, said MOH.
Two of the community cases also resulted positive for serological tests - indicating likely past infections.
In the earlier press release issued on Friday afternoon, MOH had said there were an additional two Singaporeans or permanent residents among the community cases. However, these two cases have been re-classified following contact tracing.
"Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 11 cases per day in the week before, to an average of eight per day in the past week," the ministry said.
"The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased, from an average of six cases per day in the week before, to an average of four per day in the past week."
There are also two imported cases who were placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore and had been tested while serving their notice.
Both cases are dependent's pass holders who returned from India on Jul 12, said MOH.
The vast majority of the remaining 272 new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories, the ministry said.

I only have questions on the imported cases.

If 2 cases were "imported" meaning I presume they came in from overseas on a flight.....

Then the entire airplane (crew & other pax) will also likely to be positive and they are all tested too ?

Then will the airplane be subjected to deep cleaning too ?

Why the MOH don't let us know where they come from ?

If they from one of those highly infected countries eg India, USA, Brazil should they be allowed in at all ?

What are the percentages of infected pax in relation to the total number of incoming pax via the airport ?

The infected imported cases...are they foreigners or Singaporean ?

If non citizens...why are they allowed in ?
