27 held in Orchard Rd raids

POLICE arrested 27 people for various criminal offences in overnight raids on entertainment outlets along Orchard Road.

The operation by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Tanglin Police Division, started at about 1am on Thursday and lasted till 3.30am.

The arrested suspects were involved in a host of criminal offences, including gang and vice-related activities.

Assistant Director of the CID's Specialised Crime Division, Supt Goh Lam Kiong, said: 'We will continue to conduct regular enforcement operations to uphold the law and keep crime off our streets.'

Police investigations are ongoing.
