22-year-old man arrested for committing obscene act

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who is believed to have committed a series of obscene acts in a Pasir Ris housing estate.
On February 17, police officers received a report of man exposing his private parts and committing obscene acts in the presence of his victims in the vicinity of Pasir Ris Drive 4.
Following the report, police officers conducted extensive ground inquiries to establish the identity of the suspect based on a detailed description provided by the victim.
The suspect was eventually spotted and placed under arrest within an hour of the report.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be responsible for committing at least six cases of obscene acts in the said neighbourhood.
The suspect will be charged in court on February 19 for the offence of Obscene Act under Section 294 Chapter 224 of the Penal code. If convicted, he is liable to a fine, imprisonment for a term up to three months, or both.
The police advised the public to stay calm when being confronted by offenders and to call the 999 immediately to provide the physical description of the suspects.
