21 women arrested in illegal massage parlours

Police have arrested 21 foreign women working in unlicensed massage parlours in a week-long operation from October 4 to 11.
Raids were carried out at two establishments on Dunlop Street on October 4,5 and 11.
The 21 women arrested are between the ages of 20 and 48 and in Singapore on social visit passes.
A 53-year-old man, believed to be the operator of these establishments is also under police investigation.
If convicted, he could be fined up to $1,000 for the offence. If he continues to commit the offence after conviction, he can also be fined an additional $50 per day.
For working without a valid pass, the foreign women can be fined a maximum of $5,000 each, or two years in prison, or both.
