2 men arrested for motorcycle theft

SINGAPORE - Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested for suspected motorcycle theft in a carpark along Hougang Avenue 8.
The incident was reported to the police on Jan 11.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Azmi Othman was on his way to work at about 5.15pm on Jan 22, when he came across the stolen motorcycle along Sengkang East Drive. The two suspects were riding on it.
ASP Azmi Othman then called for backup. Both suspects suddenly abandoned the stolen motorcycle at a car park along Hougang Street 51, and fled in different directions. ASP Azmi managed to detain the 20-year-old pillion rider.
The 23-year-old rider was arrested the following day along Hougang Avenue 9.
The 23-year-old suspect will be charged for Theft of Motor Vehicle, which carries a maximum jail term of seven years' and shall also be liable to a fine. Investigations are on-going for the 20-year-old suspect.
