2 drug trafficking suspects held

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in an operation, which seized drugs with a street value of $198,000. The drug haul included 960g of heroin no. 3, 150g of 'Ice', 76g of ketamine and 500 Erimin-5 tablets, said the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in a statement on Friday. Also seized were two stun guns.
CNB officers arrested the first suspected drug trafficker in his car near Henderson Road at 9.10 pm on Thursday. He is believed to have obtained his drugs from an overseas drug syndicate and sold them to clients in Singapore. A search of his car found three bundles of heroin weighing about 960g and two packets of 'Ice' weighing 110g.
About two hours later, a search was conducted at his flat in Bishan, where two stun-guns were found and seized.
Shortly after the first arrest, a suspected drug courier was arrested in his car by another team of CNB officers near Kallang Way at about 9.35 pm. A search uncovered three bundles containing 500 Erimin-5 tablets, two packets of ketamine weighing about 76g and one packet of 'Ice' weighing about 40g. They were seized.
The duo will be investigated for drug trafficking. If convicted, they face the death penalty.
