Two people were found dead after a fire broke out at a single-storey unit in Bukit Timah in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
The SCDF also said they sent three occupants to the National University Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire took place at 40 Jalan Gaharu and involved the contents of the unit. It was brought under control within 15 minutes, said the SCDF.
The SCDF had been alerted to the fire at 4:16am Sunday. “Our resources were immediately dispatched out to the location. Upon arrival, SCDF found the single storey unit well alight and immediately conducted fire fighting operations using three water jets,” according to the SCDF.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
From Google images, it appeared that part of the unit was being used as a temple.
