2 brothers, aged 37 & 42, assault police officer in Sembawang Park & slap woman with slipper outside condo, get jail
They were on PMAs during both incidents.

Two brothers in Singapore were sentenced to jail following two separate incidents that involve the assault of a police officer and a woman.
Mogan S/O Subramanian, 42, and Saravanan S/O Subramanian, 37, both faced four charges each.
This included violating the Protection from Harassment Act, violating the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act, using violence to obstruct a public servant from performing his or her duties, and using criminal force.Mogan admitted to one of the charges, while Saravanan admitted to two of them.
After considering the remaining charges, the judge sentenced Mogan to five weeks' jail and Saravanan to seven weeks' jail.
Playing loud music and smoking
On the morning of Feb. 12, 2024, at around 6:16am, a police officer was patrolling the Sembawang Park area when he found the two brothers sitting with others on personal mobility aid (PMA) devices, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The group included the mother of the two siblings, and the wife of one of the brothers.They were playing music loudly and smoking.
Smoking is prohibited at all public parks.
The family rode their PMAs to the park around 4am and drank two bottles of vodka there.
When officers asked them to lower their volume and stop smoking, the brothers refused to cooperate and raised their voices to question the reasons for the enforcement.
Saravanan reportedly even challenged the officers to a fight and asked them to arrest him.
When asked to provide documentation of his identity, he provided a fake ID number and refused to show his physical or electronic identification card.
He also repeatedly mocked and verbally abused the police officers, and even provoked them to fight.Refused to cooperate
During the kerfuffle, a police officer requested to inspect their bag, which the brothers claimed contained methamphetamine.The trio then proceeded to obstruct the inspection and verbally abused the officer again and demanded that he turn off his body camera.
Saravanan also refused to cooperate with the inspection and instead ran away, despite his mother's attempts to dissuade him, reported Shin Min.
At around 6:20am, Saravanan and his wife attempted to flee the scene on a PMA.
The police officer pursued them and successfully pulled him off the PMA, but he then repeatedly swore at the officer and even rammed his body into him.During this time, their mother tried three times to intervene and de-escalate the situation, but Saravanan continued to verbally abuse the officer for approximately 25 minutes.
Additionally, his wife also struck the officer, who grabbed her wrist to prevent further attacks.
Saravanan immediately accused the police officer of molesting his wife and continued to verbally abuse him.
The brothers were later arrested.
Assaulted woman who told them to slow down
In a separate incident on Jul. 27, 2024, the two brothers assaulted a woman outside the Skypark Residences condominium in Sembawang.
The woman had told the brothers to slow down when they rode past her at a very high speed.Angered, Saravanan pushed her phone away, while Mogan slapped her with a slipper and verbally abused her, saying, "You think you rich people stay here you big f*ck?"
