The picture taken by Mr Wong when the first taxi driver asked him for help. PHOTO: Wong Xiong

TWO friends and a cabby went to the rescue of another taxi driver when he was allegedly assaulted by three Caucasian men.

The man, who appeared drunk, had been sounding the horn, while the other Caucasian men had allegedly jumped on the bonnet and run around the taxi. The man also allegedly attempted to drive the taxi away.

The incident, which happened in April last year, took place at a taxi stand at Suntec City. A cabby, fleeing from his assailants, sought help from Mr Wong Xiong, Mr Paul Louis Liew and another cabbie at a Suntec City taxi stand. But the three attackers allegedly turned on them too, while a fourth member acted as a look-out.

Police said investigations are ongoing.

I wonder why this episode does not occur in neighbouring countries, but countless times in singapore?
Next time, act aggressive in front of these buggers, and never use the word excuse me". Just call Oi! loudly.

It's ironic cos servic staff treat caucasians better than locals but when they have problems like getting assaulted whom do they turn to?

Locals.

In this country sinkies treat each other like dirt. They treat whites like kings. The only time locals don't ever discriminate is when they are asking for help. They tend specifically seek out other locals.

I read and re-read this article and still don't understand WTF is being reported.

So 1 man was drunk and sounding the horn, while 2 others were jumping on the bonnet and "run around the taxi". Wrong tense used. And weren't they assaulting the taxi driver??? WTF is going on???

Maybe only FTs can understand States time now.

I thought I was the one with lousy Engrish. I could not make out who was attacking who and who was drunk and who drove the cab. The std of journalism in Singapore continues to fall.

Let me try....

3 ang mos beat up cabby who ran for help and found 2 men who were friends and another cabby.
Meanwhile, one of the ang mo who appeared drunk sounded horn while his ang mo friends jumped on bonnet and ran around the taxi.
The ang mo who sounded horn tried to drive taxi away too.
The 3 ang mos then tried to assault the 3 guys who came to cabby's aid, then there was a 4th accomplice to the 3 ang mos who acted as lookout while all these were happening.

That's about it.......

Thanks. I wanted to use google translate but there was no "Fucked up ST Engrish" option available.

This kind of journalism standard is really a joke.
