19 April 596cases

I get the sense the "interest" in the number of cases is falling.

More than 90% are in the dorms.

Local community cases are so so so few!

Still waiting for MOH press release for Sunday. Akan Datang. :cautious:

19 April Update:

b) Cases in the community: 30 (25 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents and 5 Work Passes)
The number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 37 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 31 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased slightly, from an average of 18 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 22 per day in the past week. We will continue to closely monitor these numbers, as well as the cases detected through our surveillance programme.

c) Work Permit holders (residing outside dormitories): 22

This is comforting news. Also, Banglaland and rapeland need to thank us for taking over their numbers.

Although cases in the community are decreasing (but still quite high), non dorm work permit holders are increasing. The latter may include maids or other workers who interact with the community, e.g. internet line technicians, cleaners, etc. May still be hidden cases in the community. :cautious:

Yes, that is a concern too. Those not staying at dorms also kena SHN from 20 April.

COVID-19: All work permit and S pass holders in construction sector to be placed on stay-home notice

They noted that while the recent rise in number of foreign workers infected with the coronavirus has mostly been concentrated in dormitories, there have been cases at construction worksites.

"Contact tracing suggests that transmissions at common construction worksites may have contributed to the increase in numbers," said MOM and BCA.

"Thus far, the cases detected among workers living outside the dormitories have been low. All those infected and their close contacts have been isolated."
