SINGAPORE : Eighteen people, mostly women, were arrested in a 10-hour operation conducted jointly by the police, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and Ministry of Manpower.
They were arrested for vice-related and immigration offences at various locations, including back lanes and lodging houses in Syed Alwi Road and Geylang.
Police said action will also be taken against those who were found to have committed housing infringements such as failing to provide an acceptable accommodation in some of the lodging houses.
Investigations against those arrested are ongoing. - CNA /ls
