$140,000 worth of chips stolen from MBS casino float

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 35-year-old Singaporean Chinese man for breaking into a casino chip float at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino.
Investigations revealed that the man had stolen gaming chips worth more than $140,000 on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, the man encashed some of the chips to get $8,000 worth of cash, which was recovered.
The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday for theft. If convicted, he faces imprisonment for up to seven years, and be liable to a fine.
