111 persons were arrested over the weekend in an operation led by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
In the island-wide operation, 46 males and 65 females, aged between 19 and 60, were arrested by the CID in a joint operation with the Singapore Police Force (SPF), Central Narcotics Bureau, and the Singapore Customs.
They targeted locations across the island, including entertainment outlets and back-alleys located in Boon Lay, Bukit Batok, Jurong, Selegie, Geylang, Guillemard Lane, Orchard Road and South Bridge Road.
The persons were arrested for various offences including the suspected involvement in gang-related activities, infringements under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and vice-related activities. The Singapore Customs also took enforcement action against 39 other persons for possessing contraband cigarettes.
Investigations against those arrested are ongoing.
