SINGAPORE - 107 suspected drug offenders were arrested by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) during a four-day islandwide operation that began on Jan 5.
The amount of drugs seized by officers during the operation included approximately 102g of heroin, 50g of 'Ice', 6g of ketamine and 32 Erimin-5 tablets.
On day 2 of the operation, CNB officers had arrested a 35-year-old Singaporean male suspect at the void deck of a Housing Development block in Yishun. From that search, officers seized a small packet of 'Ice'.
CNB officers then raided the suspect's hideout in a unit within the same block.
Two more Singaporeans, one male and one female, aged 40 and 31, respectively, were arrested. About 75g of heroin and a small amount of 'Ice' was recovered from the male. Items such as a digital weighing scale, drug-smoking apparatus and several empty plastic pockets were also seized.
The male suspect then led CNB officers to his car parked within the vicinity and produced another small amount of heroin.
Both male suspects are currently undergoing investigation for drug trafficking. If found guilty, they may face a prison term of at least 5 years and 5 strokes of the cane.
