Must be feeling the pressure from China EVs as usual.

Free servicing covers only the standard maintenance procedures labor costs and not the replacement cost of wear and tear items or any parts damaged by accident or misuse. You are also tio locked to agent pricing (higher parts/labor) and require strict intervals (every 6 months/10,000 km) to maintain validity—miss one, lose benefits.

In fact going to AD for free servicing is going to be much worse off end up you paying much more as they will charge many times higher prices for their ranjiao oil, oil filter etc.

And once the car goes past 60K km and reaches major servicing, it will suck you many times more through many ranjiao compulsory replacement items. Once you see the final bill, you will get a shock LOL.

Exclusions ("wear & tear" items) are charged extra:
  • Not covered (common pay-for items): Brake pads/discs, tyres, wipers, batteries (non-hybrid), belts, spark plugs, air/con filters, coolant full replacement, alignment/balancing.
  • Minor servicing (e.g., 10k/30k km): Usually just synthetic oil + filter (~S$300–S$500 at agent; outside ~S$150–S$300)—agent uses genuine Toyota oil (pricier than aftermarket equivalents like Mobil 1).
  • At higher mileage (e.g., 60k km major service): "Compulsory" replacements per schedule include brake fluid, transmission fluid, air filter, spark plugs—genuine parts cost 50–100% more than quality aftermarket (e.g., S$1,000+ at agent vs. S$500–S$700 outside for similar).

Are sinkees not buying Toyotas anymore?
Toyota hybrids out engineered by china erev's.
China's erev are basically EV's with a ICE generator. If you live in urban area not necessary to use ice engine. Fully electric.
USE ice engine only for long distance. Over 1000km range on full tank and full. Charge.
Go camping on china erev, can sleep inside car Using air con. Use electric kettle. Or cooker. If battery still charged. Or simply turn on car engine to charge battery. Some equipped with fridge/ food heater.
All these toyota/ bmw/ volvo / merc hybrid cannot do. Its electric engine is like a turbo when power is needed or as alternative second motor which it uses when battery is fully charge with limited range of maybe 60km.

Dont waste money with car ownership in Singapore.

Instead, you use all these monies you saved from car ownership and pay for premium location of your homes (either HDB or condo) within 100m of an MRT station. The prices of such properties will increase or at worse maintain its value over time.

At least you know that these monies you used for home ownership will maintain its value or even give you some capital appreciation instead of outright depreciation in car ownership.
