10 women arrested at Orchard Road for suspected vice activities

SINGAPORE - The police on Saturday arrested 10 females, aged 22 to 35, in the vicinity of Orchard Road for their suspected involvement in vice activities.
The 5-hour operation was carried out by Tanglin Police Division together with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and is part of the Police's on-going enforcement efforts against vice-related activities.
Investigations against the subjects are ongoing. Any person who contravenes the offences under the provisions of the Women's Charter, Chapter 353, is liable on conviction to a fine of up to a maximum of $10,000, or to imprisonment of up to five years, or both.
Commander of Tanglin Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lu Yeow Lim, reiterated that the Police will not let up in its efforts to clamp down on such illicit activities and anyone found assisting in vice activities in any way will be dealt with severely.
