TEN National Service (NS) trainees at the Desa Rimba camp, Sauk, Perak, were injured after a fight broke out on Thursday night, Sinar Harian reported.
Kuala Kangsar deputy police chief Guan Beng Kang said camp trainers at Desa Rimba discovered the incident at about 11.30pm while on their night rounds.
According to Guan, the trainers had heard some noise from the trainee dormitories and upon investigation saw the fight.
After the trainers broke up the brawl, they found that 10 NS trainees had body and head injuries, Guan said, adding that a trainer who tried to stop the fight was also hurt.
Sticks, steel bars, belts and several other items were used in the fight.
"A total of 29 trainees were detained. They were released after giving their statements.
"The injured trainees were given outpatient treatment at Kuala Kangsar Hospital," Guan said.
He added that the fight started after a misunderstanding among the trainees.
