1,470 cartons of contraband cigarettes seized from man's flat

He worked as a bus driver, but every morning neighbours saw the 46-year-old man carrying big boxes in and out of his one-room flat in Ang Mo Kio.
The truth came to light on Friday, when officers from Singapore Customs seized 1,470 cartons of contraband cigarettes from the man’s home.
The suspect, whose neighbours said spoke Mandarin with a Malaysian accent, had been using his house as a storeroom for the cigarettes.
